Online gamers might get jobs in near future.

The one thing that a lot of Indian youth spend their time on and that their parents don’t approve of is online gaming. Everyone knows that PUBG fever is still very active and its craze has been such that even the PM in one of his addresses said “Ye PUBG vala hai kya”.

If you are a gamer and one of those ‘PUBG valas’ then this might be good news for you and your parents might finally stop scolding you to do some padhai.

Union Education Ministry is working to support the students in the field of online gaming and toy making so as to generate employment opportunities for them. Yes, your online gaming skills might soon help you get a job. According to an Economic Times report, the ministry will soon organise a national level hackathon on ‘online games’ to showcase the talent of Indian students.

The school children from across the country will also be given the experience of Indian toy art. Students can now develop toy and puppet making skills. For this, they will be given special training and taught the art of toy and puppet making. This training is expected to be in accordance with international standards.

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank reportedly said that soon ‘a hackathon will be organised for students of higher education institutions through innovation in toy technology and design, including online games. This hackathon will be based on technology and design reflecting Indian ethos and values’.

He talked about the possibilities of employment in the toy industry and online gaming in line with PM Narendra Modi’s idea to make India self-reliant and the toy industry has a huge potential which students can utilise.

Nishank said toy and puppet making will be introduced as a theme of ‘Kala Utsav’ which will encourage students to explore and develop various local toys.

The National Education Policy was recently revised. Many fundamental changes regarding teaching and books have been made under it. Students will get to learn more practical skills and might get opportunities to intern from school itself, with teachers having to adapt to the new system of teaching. (www.indiatimes.com)
